The deciduous forests are primarily formed due to the relatively high humid climate. While the dry forests are abundant the moist semievergreen forests are also formed due to the greater humidity. The southern as well as northern komodo dragon population fancy living in these humid conditions. The dry deciduous forests are also quite dominant in the Gili Dasami island. However in Gili Montang the central and eastern tips are abundant in dry monsoon forest whereas the southwestern and northern areas are covered with savanna.
